JHK utilizes the network of travel agencies and tour-conducting organizations
listed below as part of its turn-around strategy to strengthen the revenue
stream of the target enterprise. We believe that including a variety of
direct marketing tactics to the standard set of distribution channels is
an extremely efficient way to increase sales of attractive products. After
the collapse of the bubble economy, the inns and hotels that relied too
heavily on the marketing brawn of major travel agencies suffered greatly,
and continue to do so to this day. There is some indication of improvement
for the inns and hotels expending special marketing efforts to meet customer
needs such as hosting conventions, expos, networking events, etc., but
after all is said and done, direct marketing is fundamental to a stable
hotel industry. This is not to say that collaboration with travel agencies
are unnecessary. What is important is that hotels and inns build a diverse
set of marketing methods. In this day and age, the application of IT solutions
are the most effective tool for direct sales and marketing in the industry
today.
